Alderman Gordon Haines

Gordon has over 40 years of service in the Financial City and is currently a consultant to the financial services industry with THB and Cardinus, having previously been a Chairman, CEO and Director of a number of financial companies. He is also an advisor to a variety of Government, civil service and charitable organisations.

In 2004, he was elected as Alderman for Queenhithe Ward in the City of London and re-elected unopposed for a further six year term in 2010. He is President of the Queenhithe Ward Club and sits on a number of committees for the City of London Corporation. As well as being Past Master Painters-Stainer, Gordon is also a Liveryman and Court Assistant of the Horners’ Company and an Honorary Freeman of the Company of Educators.

His charitable portfolio includes sitting on the executive committees of the Cancer Research UK/Bobby Moore Fund and the Bowel Disease Research Foundation as well as supporting a range of other charitable causes.

Gordon is a member of the MCC and has extensive cricket, football, golfing and other sporting interests.
